Andrea Ulrichsen

I’m a PhD student at King’s College London, working in collaboration with Dresden University. My research centres on bipolar disorder, with a particular focus on sleep patterns and the identification of early warning signs for illness recurrence.

Before starting my PhD, I spent three years as a researcher at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience (King’s College London), where I deepened my understanding of psychiatric conditions and contributed to several clinical studies.

I care deeply about improving the lives of people with bipolar disorder and other mental health conditions. For me, it’s not just about developing better treatments—it’s also about tackling the barriers that prevent people from accessing care, like stigma and misunderstanding. I believe that by increasing awareness and providing people with the tools to understand their illness, we can help them feel more in control and better equipped to advocate for themselves and their needs.
