Francesco Catania

Francesco Catania is an Italian photographer based in London, and specialises in portraiture. He has a number of impressive qualifications including a Master of Art degree in Photography from the University of Westminster and training from a Professional Photography course at the Instituto Italiano di Fotografia in Milan.

He is a portrait photographer interested in capturing what concerns identity, individuals within society and the relationship between individuals - something that can be seen in his first blog for InSPIre the Mind. In addition he also shoots portrait photography, headshots, family photo’s, products and cities - amongst others.

Ever since the beginning of his career, the human element has been fundamental in his images. His photography explores a visual elaboration of the questioning on the idea of identity in today’s society, creating a space between fiction and reality. His project, ‘Silent Figures’, the series featured in his blog, is exhibited in London and internationally.
