I am a Psychiatrist, Psychotherapist and Researcher at the Stress, Psychiatry and Immunology Lab, at King’s College London. I am fascinated by the relationship between physical and mental health and I work to identify new treatments for depression targeting the immune system.

I believe that for too long, psychiatric conditions have been considered disorders of the mind only, while in fact, they are disorders of the body as well. Looking at mental health issues like medical disorders, in all respects, can improve their social acceptance and even reduce stigma towards millions of people affected. That is why I share my research and clinical experience in InSPIre the Mind, so that this idea can reach as many people as possible and make them aware of progresses in science.

I also hope to make research accessible in other ways, for example, talking of women’s achievements in science or through the lenses of art.
