Profile
About
My name is Martin Osugo. I am an NIHR Academic Clinical Fellow, a role that combines clinical work as a psychiatrist at South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust with postdoctoral research in the Department of Psychosis Studies at King’s College London.
I hold a PhD in Clinical Neuroscience from King’s College London and studied Medicine at the University of Glasgow. My research investigates the brain mechanisms underlying motivational difficulties and cognitive impairment in schizophrenia. I combine brain imaging with pharmacological studies to understand how neurotransmitters such as dopamine and serotonin affect the brain and behaviour. I am also passionate about improving clinical care and making mental health research accessible to people who have experienced psychosis.
