About
I am a psychiatrist and a researcher in the Stress, Psychiatry and Immunology Lab (SPILab), at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience, King’s College London.
My research is focused on depression – and treatment response in depression. Despite significant progresses, there still are gaps in knowledge to be covered and open questions to be answered. With my studies, I aim to reveal the key biological and molecular mechanisms involved, particularly concentrating on immune-related processes and inflammation. I hope this may ultimately help improve the clinical management of depression, towards a more tailored and personalised approach.
I strongly believe we need more spaces to properly talk and learn about mental health. Clinicians and scientists should encourage the dialogue with the public and share knowledge with people with lived experience. I am thus enthusiastic to be part of InSPIre the Mind. This platform is a wonderful opportunity for everyone to be informed about good scientific knowledge, enriching personal experiences, and relevant world and society news about mental health.
