Tara Ramsay-Patel

I joined the UCL Child Trauma and Recovery Research Group in 2024 as a Research Assistant on the AMHD ReThink Programme, before beginning my PhD in the group in 2025. My PhD is a mixed-methods exploration of suicidal thoughts and behaviour, and self-injury among care-experienced young people. I am also a Research Fellow with the UK Trauma Council. Prior to this, I completed my BA in Psychological and Behavioural Sciences at the University of Cambridge, followed by an MRes in Developmental Neuroscience and Psychopathology at UCL and Yale University. My research interests focus on developmental psychopathology, marginalised communities (especially care-experienced young people), and self-destructive behaviour (e.g., suicidal behaviour, self-injury, and eating disorders). I hope to contribute to the development of co-produced and evidence-based interventions for at-risk groups.
