About

Dr Costanza Pavone is a psychiatrist and researcher working at the intersection of clinical psychiatry and public mental health policy. She completed a Master's at King's College London under Professor James MacCabe's supervision, studying clozapine's impact on hospitalization rates. She is currently finishing her specialist training in adult psychiatry at Université Paris Cité, in Professor Frank Bellivier's service, where she also researches the determinants of treatment response in bipolar disorder. Her aim is to advance mental health care that is grounded in evidence and shaped by users’ needs.

Last Night a DJ Saved My Life
I met Mark Moore while desperately looking for a flat in London. We immediately connected over our passion for electronic music and the club scene. As S’Express’s lead DJ, Mark is a living piece of that culture. Our friendship has motivated me, as a psychiatry trainee, to investigate the mental health impact of clubbing – one of my favourite off-work activities. In the late 1980s, the Second Summer of Love saw British youth flocking to parties, dancing to the rhythm of acid house.
