Jamie Ryder grew up in Manchester with a comic in one hand and a philosophical quote in the other. He’s the author of four books, three of which are stealth help, where ancient wisdom and battles meet pop culture and personal growth lessons. Because self-improvement is more fun with a few fight scenes, and if Marcus Aurelius, Miyamoto Musashi, and Thor had a group chat, Ryder would just listen and take notes.


One of his most popular books is History’s Greatest Philosophers: Classical Wisdom For Modern Times, which charts the lives of philosophers from different schools of thought like Albert Camus, Michel de Montaigne, Christine de Pizan and Mary Wollstonecraft.

How Stoicism Became My Antidote For Anxiety
Growing up, I thought Dad was stoic. He always managed to keep his emotions in check, even when he was diagnosed with Myotonic Muscular Dystrophy, alongside my uncle and aunt.
