I’m Lynne, an MSc student in Psychology and Neuroscience of the Mind-Body Interface, aiming to pursue a career in research and clinical practice. I’m deeply passionate about the biological basis of mental health disorders and the impacts stress and trauma have on our bodies and health outcomes. On the Lebanon War, Mental Health, and my Diaspora Experience
I’m sure many of you have been following the war between the US and Iran, have seen the headlines of escalations between the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and the Middle East, and are starting to feel some of the implications this war is having on the world. I previously wrote a piece covering my experiences at the beginning of the war in the UAE. Now, I am sharing my perspective again, but this time with a focus on my mother country, Lebanon.

The War with Iran: A Perspective from a Gulf State Migrant
As one of the thousands of Levantine migrants (originating from the Levant region, including the countries of Syria, Palestine, Lebanon, Jordan etc.) whose families are now in the Gulf in pursuit of a better life, my world shattered the morning of the 28th of February.
