About
My name is Nuriza (pronounced: nuh-riz-ah). I am a researcher, writer, and editor who contributes to blogs on a range of topics and oversees editorial content for Inspire the Mind.
With a profound passion for Neuroscience research, I hold a BSc in Neuroscience and an MSc in Clinical Neuroscience. My research interests include the intersection of psychiatry, neuroscience and immunology. As such, I am currently conducting research in the emerging field of psychoneuroimmunology with the Stress, Psychiatry & Immunology (SPI) Lab. My research includes investigating: inflammation in patients with Long COVID, inflammation across neuropsychiatric and neurological conditions, and the potential use of ultrasounds in mitigating the inflammatory state in depression. Lastly, I am passionate about science communication, disseminating complex research and writing about social issues and mental health.
