About
I am a research assistant in the Stress, Psychiatry and Immunology Laboratory (SPI-Lab) at King’s College London. I graduated in Pharmaceutical Biotechnology from University of Milan in 2014 and joined the SPI-lab group in 2016.
I work in clinical and in vitro studies investigating the role of neurogenesis as a biomarker for depression, in the context of inflammation. More specifically, I work on cellular models of neuroinflammation and stress, gene expression analyses, and biological clinical samples
I am fascinated by the biological aspects of psychiatric disorders and I hope my research can help to better understand how the biological alterations in mental illnesses can improve the pharmacological treatment.
I believe that many activities that are part of our daily routine could have a positive and deep impact on our mental and physical health. With my blogs, I hope to increase awareness on mental health and how activities such as cooking or baking can improve our mental health.
