About

I am Rosie, a master's student at King's College London currently completing the Psychology and Neuroscience of Mind-Body Interface MSc programme.

I did my bachelor’s degree in psychology at the University of Oxford and have experience working with adults and children in clinical and educational psychology settings, as well as working as an academic tutor and TEFL teacher.

My current projects span perinatal mental health, chronic pain, linguistic development in children, and neuropsychological assessment. Overall, I am passionate about research, practice and innovation at the intersection between mental and physical health, and aim to continue working in this area in the future.

Are Genetics Fixed? How Our Environment Can Change How Our DNA Works
There are countless approaches to try to explain why people think and behave in the ways that they do, and like many Inspire the Mind readers, I have always been interested in this question. As a teenager, I had heard about the ‘nature vs nurture’ debate, where scientists disagree over how much our traits and behaviours are determined by our genes, and how much they are shaped by the environment around us. Of course, the general answer tends to be: it’s a bit of both.
