About

I am Fatoumata, a part-time student on the novel MSci in Psychology and Neuroscience of Mind-Body Interface, who currently works as an au pair.

My history with PCOS has been a first-hand experience as to how our bodies influences our mental experience. My time on the course has fuelled my intrigue for the ever-present connection between our mind, brains, and body. My interests often vary with every insightful lecture on the programme, but I currently sway towards learning more about the gut’s role in the development and manifestation of mental disorders.

In the future, I can see myself working in a setting that allows me to research and spread knowledge on the interface between our minds and our bodies. My first step towards achieving this is writing for Inspire the Mind, where I introduce myself with an account on what brought me to this MSci at King’s in the first place: my experience with PCOS.
