About

I am a Postdoctoral Researcher and Psychologist working at the Stress, Psychiatry and Immunology (SPI) Lab, and in thePsychoimmunometabolix and Interaction with the Environment (PIXIE)-Lab, Department of Psychological Medicine atthe Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience at King’s College London.

I am fascinated by the dialogue between biological and psychological aspects in mental health, and my main interest is todeepen the knowledge in depression and treatment-resistant depression.

Even though the research in this area has increased exponentially in the last decades, there is still so much to reveal. Whatis the role of the interplay between inflammation and sex hormones in depression? Can these be associated with the well-known sex differences in depression? To what extent do we know about the biological aspects of suicide in depression? What are the biological mechanisms underlying treatment resistance in depression?

I think InSPIre the Mind is the perfect platform to mitigate the stigma around mental health and to spread scientificknowledge and lived experiences in an accessible way among all the curious minds out there.
